Pädaste Manor Park

Welcome! Pädaste Park!

Five 19th Century iron stone buildings join the stately Manor in a horse shoe shape, opening up to the Baltic Sea.

The Manor ensemble is set amidst a 7 hectare landscaped park surrounded by 22 hectares of meadows & forests. The estate is surrounded by centuries old iron stone walls, partly overgrown with moss.

From the coastline of Pädaste, a marvelous natural view unfolds onto the bay. A keen observer can find countless varieties of grasses, ferns, meadow flowers, berries, and shrubs; pine trees, birches, and the junipers, known as the 'national trees' of Muhumaa, paint a lush landscape along the bay.

Together, Pädaste Park and the shoreline form a nature reserve well-known for its diverse life forms and richness of species. For instance, there are 23 different species of rare orchids. Bird watching in Pädaste Bay is a value in itself, as flocks gather in this bay before migration and return to the home island in the May spring. Geese, cranes, ducks, and swans are daily guests in Pädaste Bay during these times. In the immediate vicinity of three rare and majestic sea eagle nests, the evenings of June are accompanied by the charming song of the nightingale, while the park is home to countless owls, woodpeckers, swallows seeking nesting places, curious squirrels, and bats. During cold winters, deer, roe deer, and elk inhabit the surrounding forests and occasionally explore the manor park.

During the summer season (June 1st – August 31st), Pädaste Park is open to visitors every day from 12:00 to 19:00.

The admission fee for the park is €4 for adults and €2 for children under 16.

Group visits are available by prior reservation only.
