Ferry connection

Muhu Island is connected by a frequent ferry service from Virtsu on the mainland to Kuivastu on Muhu. The ferries take cars and make the crossing in 25 minutes. Reservations are highly recommended specially during weekends.

Muhu is well connected by a network of busses from Tallinn, Riga and most other cities in the region.

Self drive

All major car rental companies have offices in Tallinn and Riga, the roads are well maintained and safe, the ferry takes cars accross to the Islands. From Tallinn calculate two hours for the journey to the port of Virtsu, from Riga 3,5 hours.

Airports

The airports of Tallinn and Riga are well connected to most European cities. Kuressaare, a 45 km drive on the neighbouring Island Saaremaa has a small airport with flights to Stockholm and Helsinki on certain days.
